Description of lesson Students will grasp a concept of right triagles and how to find various sides of triagles given two other sides. Students will be learning who invented the Pythagorean Theorem and have access to Pythagoras's biography. I have also provided a couple online videos so that the students get a lesson on the material verbally versus just reading what it is about. In this lesson the students will be able to utilize their technology abilities to do their homework and explore deeper into mathematics. Assignment (homework or in-class: this is how the learner will practice the learning that has just occurred):
The students need to print off or e-mail me their results for the online quizes and bring any questions they have to class for discussion and explanation. I look forward to see how the students enjoy this assignment. Technology used: Wikispaces.com The technology used in this lesson changes the teaching / learning in this way: It allows the students to learn through technology see how they can learn pretty much anything they want to online. So much information is online and the kids need to learn how to utilize what is at their fingertips.
